    Immigration is the only way economies with declining birthrates can ensure GDP growth

    The only solution for democracies with declining working age populations to ensure GDP growth over the long run is skilled immigration. Without increasing levels of human productivity, any country with a declining young population is a sitting duck for declining GDP growth and ultimately absolute GDP. Immigration is the easiest solution.
