Since the advent of manufacturing, technology and skill have been complements. Hence, any advancement in technology will naturally lead to a relative increase in demand for skilled labor over the long run, albeit with short term unemployment in certain areas.
If AI is the new frontier of technology advancement, without of course any apocalyptic reality of absolute machine supremacy, then AI will lead to more employment of skilled people working in and around AI, and over the long run perhaps will even recover any lost jobs elsewhere.
Precisely. Technology and skill have been complements since manufacturing as a process was invented and today’s software development is just another re/evolution of manufacturing. AI will create more jobs over the long run, and its hard to predict today what those jobs may be.
